Dr. Lori Hart believes that while human behavior is messy, the solution to safety doesn’t have to be. Lori has spent over three decades simplifying the complexities of the collegiate experience. Her philosophy is simple: safety is not a set of rules—it is the byproduct of high-functioning, authentic relationships. As the founder of The Hart Collective, this is the basis of our shared standard for our work.
A trailblazer in campus health and safety, Lori is known for her unique ability to take "the heavy stuff"—risk management, campus culture and social responsibility and translate it into systems that are practical, digestible and rooted in science. But she doesn’t do it alone. Through The Hart Collective, Lori acts as a bridge, connecting campuses to a network of experts and cutting-edge research to ensure no problem goes unsolved.
Whether she is speaking as a long-time fraternity and sorority advocate, a researcher or a parent to a college-aged adult, Lori leads with "tough-love" humor and dignity.
Lori challenges audiences to laugh at the absurdity of human behavior while taking radical responsibility for their actions.
